Robin Wessel Joins CRU as New Executive Vice President
Data storage leader brings on executive with two decades of product management and market strategy experience as it expands its reach in the government, defense and small business markets
Vancouver, WA — February 28, 2019 — CRU, a leading provider of high-quality data storage devices, today announced the hiring of Robin Wessel as executive vice president responsible for sales, marketing and engineering. Wessel will play an instrumental role as the company launches new products in 2019 and beyond and increases its focus on the rapidly growing government and defense markets.
Wessel will set CRU’s strategic direction and drive innovation for its removable hard drive, external data storage and forensic digital investigation products. He brings more than two decades of corporate strategy, product management, channel, sales and product marketing experience at companies that include FLIR Systems, Xerox and Tektronix.
Wessel’s addition to the CRU executive team comes at a time when the federal government’s IT budget is projected to reach $93 billion by 2020, according to Bloomberg. Wessel’s background in marketing to government agencies, combined with his expertise in leading commercial technology products, enhances CRU’s already strong position in its target markets.
