WiebeTech Moves to Expanded Facilities to Support Growth
Wichita, KS — November 3, 2005 — WiebeTech LLC recently moved into expanded offices in Northrock Business Park at 8200 E 34th Street North, Suite 1404. The move provides WiebeTech with more than twice the floor space for sales, marketing, manufacturing and executive offices.
Started in 2000 by James Wiebe, WiebeTech focuses on providing storage systems for computer users and forensic computing equipment for federal government and law enforcement. WiebeTech's products are used pervasively by Federal agencies such as the FBI, ATF and IRS.
WiebeTech has seen 5+ years of growth, and currently has a staff level of approximately 25 people. Sales in 2003 were nearly 300% of 2002. The 2004 sales were about 180% of 2003. More recently, the third quarter of 2005 saw sales hit an all time quarterly high, exceeding the prior quarter with growth of about 45%, all in the space of 3 months.
WiebeTech's products have received outstanding reviews in publications such as PC Magazine, SC Magazine, Macworld and MacAddict, as well as numerous online publications. Its products have received "Best of Show" awards and "Editor's Choice Awards" from Macworld Expo and 4 Star awards from SC Magazine.
In 2000, James Wiebe was already a computer industry veteran with 25 years of computer industry expertise. As a proven entrepreneur, he was quick to see the potential of storage devices in small, portable enclosures. While everyone else was touting their 256MB USB keychains, James came up with the FireWire KeyChain, holding up to 1 gigabyte. It was introduced at 2002 Macworld Expo in San Francisco to much acclaim.
In addition, Wiebe also realized that there had to be a way to more easily retrieve data from stray hard drives without having to put them in an enclosure. The introduction of the extremely popular FireWire DriveDock product line was the solution. Following close behind were the bus-powered versions which allowed access to drives through FireWire connections without an AC adapter.
Shortly after, computer forensic analysts challenged Wiebe to write-block the DriveDock, allowing read-only access to suspect data, qualifying it as an important tool in the computer forensic arsenal.
The forensic customer base of WiebeTech is a true Who's Who of the federal government. WiebeTech's forensic products are in use at the following agencies: FBI, Secret Service, ATF, IRS Criminal Investigation, and others. Products are also in use in a variety of foreign governments, including Canada and the UK.
In addition, multimedia developers, educators, IT professionals, as well as computer forensic analysts count on WiebeTech products.
WiebeTech's products are distributed by numerous distributors and dealers, including Synnex, CDW, Dr. Bott (a Macintosh specialty distributor), PCMall, MacMall, PCMallGov.. Foreign distributors include AM Micro in the UK, and Network Innovatiaons in Sweden. There are many other European distributors as well.
