Connects 3.5" drives to a computer without using an AC adapter

Wichita, KS — January 11, 2005 — WiebeTech announces Super DriveDock+, which allows users to attach 3.5" IDE hard drives through FireWire 800 (400 compatible) without using an AC adapter. This allows users to mount drives to their computer's desktop using a single FireWire cable, as long as the host port supplies adequate power.

"Super DriveDock+ is a redesigned and upgraded version of our exceedingly popular product of the same name," said James Wiebe, CEO of WiebeTech LLC. "We've added FireWire 800 support (400 compatible) and a LED power status system. If the host FireWire port doesn't have enough power to spin up and run the drive, one of the LEDs blinks, indicating that AC power is needed."

A USB2 port is included, but is not bus powered, but an AC adapter is included. As a result, the Super DriveDock+ will attach to virtually any PC or Mac.

Our exclusive LED power status system has 3 indicators. The first lets you know that the host bus power or AC power is available. Another LED indicates that the DriveDock is turned on. The third LED indicates that the drive is being accessed. In the event that the host does not provide sufficient power, one of the LEDs slowly blinks, indicating that you need to use AC power.

A self-aligning drive connector provides for automatic and easy insertion.

The extremely small design fits easily in a briefcase. It's constructed from anodized aluminum making it tough and durable.

Features

Dual daisy chainable bus powered FireWire 800 ports, 400 compatible. FireWire ports accept bus power from hosts which provide adequate power, allowing single cable operation.

USB2 port. Not bus powered, but does allow attachment to all hosts, including PCs, Macs and Linux when using AC adapter (included).

Self aligning connector. Provides easy attachment of IDE/ATA 3.5-inch drives.

Power attached LED. Verifies that AC or bus power is present and attached.

Power on LED. Verifies that unit is turned on (or off). Doubles as warning LED.

Access LED. Shows that drive is being accessed

Electronic fuse within SuperDriveDock+ automatically resets when host power is insufficient and also blinks the warning LED.

3 Position Power switch. Allows manual selection of FireWire bus power (when available), AC power (when attached) and OFF.

OXUF922 bridge. Provides best FireWire compatibility with latest firmware.

Anodized aluminum case. It's beautiful and durable.

Small size allows you to take it anywhere.

World compatible AC adapter. Accepts 100-240VAC so you can trot the globe.
