WiebeTech, a brand of CRU-DataPort Says ‚ÄúNo‚Äù to NAS with New RTX™400-QR

Vancouver, WA — January 6, 2009 — WiebeTech, a brand of CRU-DataPort® and global leader in data security and data mobility solutions releases the new RTX400-QR, a portable desktop storage enclosure with built-in RAID. The RTX400-QR features a quad interface (FireWire 400/800, USB 2.0 or eSATA) supporting up to 100MB/s data transfer rates, making this direct attached storage (DAS) device up to 10X faster than many network attached storage (NAS) devices while being easier to manage. The RTX400-QR is available pre-configured for Mac or Windows in 2TB and 4TB configurations, with a base unit available starting at just $899.95.

"The RTX400-QR is unique because of its small size and portability in relation to its large storage capacity and multiple interface options," says Jon Johnson, Executive Director of Marketing for CRU-DataPort. "High performance storage and easy to use localized RAID at such an affordable price makes the RTX400-QR an excellent choice for many markets, including digital photography, video editing, small business storage, server-attached storage, enterprise workgroups, forensic professionals and home users."

Additionally, RTX400-QR features include a lightweight and sturdy aluminum case, an LCD display, TrayFree™ drive bays for easy drive installation and removal, ultra-quiet fans and a rugged handle for portability. Using 1.5 Terabyte hard drives, the RTX400-QR delivers up to six Terabytes of storage in a very small footprint. The state-of-the-art RAID controller is capable of RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, and 5. Pre-configured units ship in RAID 5, require no initialization, ensure data safety and continue to function in the event of a hard drive failure. If a hard drive should fail, you can continue using the unit without losing your data. To regain full functionality, simply hot-swap the failed drive to initiate the automatic rebuild process.

The new RTX400-QR portable desktop enclosure will be on display at the DoD Cybercrime Conference, January 26-30 in St. Louis, MO. You may also enter to win a FREE RTX400-QR by entering the WiebeTech photo contest running through March 31, 2009. For more information, please visit www.CRU-DataPort.com and www.WiebeTech.com.
